I'm in trouble with these files because I tested all of my tools and tools of the web to rip the GT4.VOL file which contains sfx/musics but I can't extract the Arcade Mode Music and the GT Mode musics (menu) and they aren't in the jukebox extra of the game, too, strange...

GT4.VOL and GT4L1.VOL --> https://mega.co.nz/#!5NA0GA4I!7BYpWi2b6 ... 8usxvTCD9A

GT3FSExtract.
On every forum online there are people who had success extracting gt4.vol with the gt3 extractor.

Hey thanks Aluigi I extracted all of the archive o_o but I'm in trouble now with the .ads files, they can't be playable with Foobar2000 vgmstream or when I scan with other software, I tried to rename into .ss2 but not working. Can you give a see? Thanks

Download ADS file: https://mega.co.nz/#!EVBgxJRA!59WCIayUO ... LCZ3HgfGWg

I have a "bgmads.inf" file also: but this is not music file just system information like .dat/.bin or other I think filetable: https://mega.co.nz/#!UUhWWYBY!S6w_zo48m ... _52nUPZ3-M

Sorry Aluigi, the menu themes and others are sequenced compared to the entire other songs in the archive, PSound extracted 22 233 files... You understand this is difficult to to search ALL OF THE SEQUENCED files in order

I think I'm going to record the musics because the files are sequenced plus SEQUENCED WITH INSTRUMENTS ! PART OF 2 SECOND INSTRUMENT ! In fact you have the instruments seperated into parts, you have the effects and others things and I have to merge/join all of the files so I can't do this, I already did this for HP 2 but this was just the music sequenced, not the instruments and other things. Why the developpers use this method?

In certain situations the lame recording of the music is not a bad solution.
Yes it takes more effort but in terms of quality is the same of ripping them, if you planned to convert VAG to mp3 obviously.

On the game options you can adjust sfx/music/voice volumes, but not in HP 2, that's the problem in certain games, if GT4 didn't have this option, these tracks were very hard to get.

Certainly not! An internal "what you hear" recording records the ANALOGUE output signal directly before the chinch. That's about the same as looping a cable to the mic input and recording it. As far as I know the only possibility to record truly lossless audio is by looping a SPDIF cable from the output to the input. So you'd need an additional sound card with an SPDIF in.

I'm not sure if "what you hear" is the analogue output.
It should be handled just at driver level by forking the raw pcm data meant to be sent to the output.

There is not much documentation about these virtual devices ("What you hear", "Stereo mix" and so on) so let me know if you have some links.

I can't hear any music when I try with vgmtoolbox. I think this is not an audio file... Can you try to write a script for GT4.vol please?

Why not rip the music from YouTube?

https://www.youtube.com/results?search_ ... mode+music

Use Chrome or Firefox and find a plugin that lets you download a YouTube video as an mp3 file.

Well yes, that's the idea behind the concept but "what you hear" is literal in this case - just the raw analogue output. You can check it by recording "silence" and then normalizing the recording. You'll see that there's (analogue) background noise.
I was sceptical some years ago when I downloaded a rip where you could hear that somebody recorded a mono output as stereo. When I did an inversed overlay of the channels, the result was all but silence. ;)

FInally ripped menu songs & arcade & other.. they're located in the GT4L1.vol layer file... They're sequenced songs of 1 second (instrument one by one)
