Hello,

I wanted to extract the full OST of Need For Speed 2015, since it is impossible to find rips online, and there is quite rare songs in it.

The files are named .sps, the same extension as used in almost every EA games, especially from the 2007-2012 Burnout / Need For Speed series era.

They used to be simple to extract with EA Layer 3, a program that ( Like the name implies ) extract EA Layer 3 files.

But it seems that it is encoded differently on NFS 2015, as the program doesn't work on them.

Does anyone have a clue on how to extract them, or with what does these files were encoded ... ?

Here are some examples here :

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wBmMSx ... sp=sharing

https://drive.google.com/file/d/15fR300 ... sp=sharing

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kGLwBc ... sp=sharing

Little advice : The game is the second NFS game developped by Ghost, a quite new studio from EA, so the files are probably the same in NFS Rivals, i haven't see anything online on how to extract NFS Rivals OST though.

Looking through the files with Notepad, the files seems to have been encoded with LAME 3.98.4.

If it was encoded with LAME, then it originally was an MP3. I know that SPS could be decoded with ealayer3, but it might've changed

That's what i said, it seems that it's a modified version of EA Layer 3, like some sort of EA Layer 4 i don't know

Ooooh, is that my rip of the game or have you used my scripts? Anyway, PS4 version uses EA-MP3 codec which basically consists of standard MP3 frames with a custom header and an optional PCM block. vgmstream can decode it: https://hcs64.com/vgmstream.html

Possible, i took it from hcs64, by the way, i'm the dude who asked for your NFS : The Run compiled rip a few months ago.

Do you think you could do the same for NFS 2015 OST ... ?

Yeah, I'm the one who submitted that archive to hcs64.

That would normally be easy but the pursuit music in this game is split into segments *and* is layered and I don't want to go through all the work of compiling that into a nice sounding track.
